Animal Sanctuary Week

In honor of National Farm Animal Awareness Week (Sept. 14 - 20), we are celebrating with our own Animal Sanctuary Week! Beginning September 14, we'll be sharing the stories of animals rescued by our partners, building to a fundraiser on Saturday, September 20! We'll donate 5% of sales that day from all Next Level Burger, Next Level Veggie Grill and Veggie Grill by Next Level locations to our animal sanctuary partners. Their missions align with our belief in a more compassionate food supply.

Meet some of the animals!

Photos of a sheep, goat and cow with copy. Sergio: Sergio was rescued along with 41 other desperately ill sheep from a backyard slaughter operation. Catskill Animal Sanctuary nursed these extremely neglected, emaciated sheep back to health, and today they live love-filled lives at CAS! Leah: Leah was one of 27 goats Catskill Animal Sanctuary accepted from a seizure of a gruesome backyard slaughter operation in 2015. As you can tell by her smile, she is an absolute delight! Today she lives happily with her goat family and human caretakers. Anastasia: Anastasia (Anya) and her twin brother Milton were rescued from a dairy farm who considered them “useless,” and was planning on slaughtering them both! Luckily, Catskill Animal Sanctuary stepped in just in time and brought them to their forever home at just six days old. Now they are loving sanctuary life!

Photos of a sheep, pig and goat with the following copy: RILEY: Raised for the 4H program, Riley was saved when the family fell in love with him and contacted Luvin’ Arms. He loves to lead his sheep friends out to pasture each day to hang out and graze in the sun, and is also a bit of a troublemaker – he’s been found eating hay from the cows’ feeder! LOLA: Lola is a potbellied big who was rescued along with 11 others from a dire animal cruelty situation in Florida. Upon arrival at Luvin’ Arms Animal Sanctuary in Colorado, she gave birth to 8 piglets! Today she loves her babies and her best friend Winston the pig. ARYA: Arya is a Nigerian Dwarf goat who was saved from a dairy operation with her best friend Sebastian. Though she grieved his loss after he passed in 2021, she soon bonded closely to new goat residents Lenny and Bonzo. Today she is a matriarch of their growing goat family!

Photos of a pig and cows with the following copy: WILLA: Willa is a Yorkshire Pig who saved herself from a suspected illegal “backyard butcher” situation in Southern California! She was found wandering the SoCal streets. Now she has a happy life at Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary! JADE & JUNO: These two cow besties were directly rescued by our partner Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary from a slaughterhouse in Los Angeles. Now every day is a peaceful, happy day for these BFFs! SIMON: After being born on a dairy and sold, Simon was saved from neglect and exploitation at a petting zoo by a viral social media post! He’s grown up at Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary with friends like special needs goats, a turkey, a rooster, and fellow cows.

Tito was rescued as a “leftover” from a veal transport truck by a compassionate driver who noticed a few sickly calves in his cargo. Tito arrived at Luvin’ Arms Animal Sanctuary in Colorado in very poor health. Now healthy, Tito roams the pastures with his cow friends, and loves cuddling with people. Because he was raised by people, he’s like a giant puppy. He loves to play, be frisky, and gives the best cow hugs in town.
